Rome, Italy and the famous Leonardo da Vinci

Hello,

This is Catherine reporting from Rome, Italy once more. I have yet another question to answer. This question talks about a famous artist that we all know of and someone that may not understand.

Essential Question: What made Leonardo da Vinci different form all the other artists?

Leonardo da Vinci embraced mathmatics, philosophy, architecture, engineering, sculptue, science, and music as well as painting. This man joined all of theses into his art work trying to perfect his art. One famous quote that he said was "Those who are enamored of practice without science are like sailors who board a ship without rudder and compass, never having any certainty as to whiter they go." I love this quote by him becuase it shows his passion. He investigated every aspect of his art and thought how math or science can perfect it and make it better.

One of his famous paintings was "The Last Supper." This painting acutally had a impossible viewpoint. Though his skill with math and architecture he could make this happen. Da Vinci had a vanshing point which is ofund on Christ's right eye. This point should have been placed lower so the vanshing point is at the spectators eye level. Becuase this point was on Christ's eye it is now 15 ft above the ground which is not supposed to happen. So when you look at the picture it looks lifted and it looks like the viewer is looking on the floor up to the view point. Making this a phenomenon.
