Slovak Sports

Hello again, It's Alesj. Today I will be talking to you about sports in Slovakia. Basically, there are three major sports in Slovakia. Those three sports are Ice Hockey, soccer, and tennis. Both ice hockey and tennis have their own leagues and national teams. The ice hockey league is called the Slovak Extraliga. It is rated by the International Ice Hockey Federation as the fifth strongest league in Europe. There are eleven teams. Slovakia's national ice hockey team finished fourth at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. They have also won a World Championship. The soccer league in Slovakia is called the Corgon Liga. There are twelve teams in the league. There are also development leagues that play at a lower level than the Corgon Liga. Slovakia's national soccer team finished with one win(Italy), one tie, and two losses at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Tennis is also big in Slovakia. Slovakia has produced a good number of professional tennis players including Dominika Cibulkova. Well, that's pretty much all I have to say about sports here. Until next time, I'll talk to you guys later.

Do vedinia!

Alesj
