Slovakian Food!!

Hello again!

Today's post will be all about food from my country. Slovak cuisine was heavily influenced by neighboring countries such as Austria and Hungary. Slovak food is not usually common around the world like Chinese food or Italian food. I think that Slovak food is the best food in the world; whenever I travel to other countries such as the United States the food is 'fake' and gross. Well, that's just my opinion at least. Anyways, some popular food dishes in Slovakia are Bryndzove halusky, Kapustnica soup, and fried fish. Bryndzove halusky is a dish with small peices of potato dumplings and bryndza which is cheese made from sheep's milk. The dish is usually topped with small peices of meat such as what American's call bacon. Kapustnica soup is a popular christmas dish. The soup is made from sauerkraut and sausages. Fried fish is common on christmas day. Popular fish that are fried are carp and cod. Grilled meats are not common here. Meats are usually fried in oil or breaded. Another popular dish is kettle goulash, which is a stew made of beef, carrots, and different vegetables. Well, I guess that's it for now.

Do vedinia,
