Yeah, its Alegra again. Ferrara, Italy has a lot of beautiful music. Opera: Italy is the home of opera music. Opera music was created in Italy in the 17th Century by an Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi. Opera music is now spread, and apprectiated around the world. Classical: Italy has producted a few significant names in the world of classical music. Rock: The most prevalent form of popular music in Italy during the past decades. Even tho no Italian rock bands have had any success in English speaking countries, there are several Italian bands in Italy. Rap: Popular music in Italy often takes its cues from the US and this is how rap developed in Italy. There is today significant rap music scene in Italy. Even tho the Italian beats are similar to the rap music in the US, the lyrics of the Italian rap seem to concentrate on social critiques that are entirely Italian.

Hey Chloe,Zoe here ounce again in today I decided to talk to you abut our meal times here in Switzerland. Our meal times are some what the same as yours. Our main meal of the day is held at noon. One thing that I found out that is different about our two country's is that when we eat dinner the adults drink wine and the kids have to drink water while eating dinner. Just as you do we also have snacks here in our country. Our snack times are held around 4 o'clock in we call snacks and my country Zuiveri. When we eat our snack it is usually consists of sausage and ham and a little pickles with a drink. The weird thing that I find weird in my country is that in evening we eat bread & cheese because to us it's the lightest part of the day. That's all for now I will talk to you guys tomorrow.

City of Kosice

Today, I have decided to take a trip to Kosice. So, I will give you a little background information about the historic city. Kosice is the second largest city in Slovakia after the capitol, Bratislava. Kosice is probably the most historic city in the whole country. It is believed to be inhabited from as early as 1200 A.D. Kosice was also once the capital of Upper Hungary in the 1500s-1600s. Kosice is also the largest city in Eastern Slovakia. Kosice is also the main economic center for eastern Slovakia. Kosice has the largest factory in Slovakia, which is U.S. Steel Kosice. Kosice features many buildings with gothic-style architecture. Most of these buildings are built along the main street and the city center. These buildings include St. Michael's Chapel, Jakab's Palace, and the St. Urban Tower. My favorite thing to do in Kosice is to walk around and look at these buildings. Kosice has the largest Town Monument Reserve in Slovakia. Kosice also has probably the most successful hockey team in the Slovak Extraliga. I have also run in the Kosice Peace Marathon, which is the second oldest Marathon in the world, after the world famous Boston Marathon in the United States. That's pretty much it I guess. I will talk again tomorrow and hopefully I will enjoy my trip!

Hello Again

Sorry I have not posted for a few days. I was in Frankfurt where Opa's funeral was happening. We were staying in Oma's house, which is close to the church and funeral home we chose. The funeral happened on Sunday, and was very stagnant. The church bells rang for Opa's death, and they stopped at three strokes. After the pause was the death bell. A lot of people showed up to the funeral. There were a priest and ministrants who wore violet and black and stood with us. The priest said the requiem (a very important prayer) and burned some incense while sprinkling the coffin with holy water. Then, four pallbearers (popular people from the city) lowered the coffin into the grave in a cemetary outside of the church. The day before my mother decided to help me get the funeral out of my mind by taking me to Zeil. This is a shopping center in Frankfurt where they have just about everything. I was too sad to ask for anything, but my mother decided to get me a new cell phone and a basketball. I was glad she did this for me, and it eased my pain a little bit. I went back to Cologne shortly after the funeral, and went to school today. My friends comforted me and wished me well. Thankfully, it was a very good day in school, so I wasn't weighed down by what happened over the weekend. I hope you guys are doing alright, as well. You always make me happy! Wildlife in Liechtenstein

Hi again, it's Sara once again from Liechtenstein. We have lots of wildlife here, and most of them are stereotypical to alpine types of environments. However, unlike some of the eastern Alps, we don't have the wolves and bears that once roamed the mountains. Here, however, the lynx was reintroduced. If you keep your eyes open you can see deer, mountain goats, and marmots.

We also have types of foxes, pheasants, eagles, and vultures sometime even show themselves. These are just a few of the native animals here!

Style in Italy

In Italy, we like to wear a lot of different things. Sometimes my favorite things to wear are some faded blue jeans. A lot of times I also like to wear a baggy dress with a belt around the stomach. My friends usually wear the same things as me too. Most of the time my favorite color to wear is purple or red. For shoes we like to wear high heels. Usually I wear black because they match a lot. Some times I wear sneakers too. Only for when I run around. There are a lot of different things to wear, but these are the highlights.

I believe that if you took at least a one week trip, that you would be very satisfied with the music in this very unique country. In Italy, music holds an important position for people to enjoy. Instrumental and vocal classical music is by far some of the most popular types of music in Italy, with over 1 Million cd's sold just in Italy alone, each year. Italian folk music plays an important part of the country's musical heritage. The music is usually used to dance with or play intruments to. Some of the music in Italy, is greatly experimental and ranges in a great variety of genre's of music.
